Notice of Dru= g Testing to begin for Clyde CISD 7th-12th grade students:

 

In an effort to promote a d= rug-free educational environment, Clyde CISD will implement a drug-testing program f= or all students who choose to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities or who request a parking permit.

Clyde CISD will begin drug = testing of 7th-12th grade students.  Any student who participates in contests, competitions, or community service ev= ents on behalf of or representing the District are required to participate in the drug-testing program.  Additionally, students who are not involved in extracurricular activities or who are not seeking a parking permit may voluntarily request = to participate in the drug-testing program.

A copy of the drug-testing policy and consent form will be sent = home with the student report cards on October 9, 2007.  Students that wish to participate = in extra-curricular activities and/or who have a parking permit must return the parent consent form to their respective schools by October 10th.

A mandatory student orienta= tion program will be held during the school day at CHS and CJH on October 8= th concerning the drug-testing policy.  A parent orientation wil= l be conducted on Oct. 9th in the High School Cafetorium beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Parents are strongly urged to attend one of these informative meetings.

Clyde CISD believes in help= ing our students learn in a safe, drug-free environment and implementing this drug-= testing program is just one of the ways we can help our students resist the temptat= ion of substances that would be harmful to their well-being.
